Slapshot Charlestown Chiefs

The Charlestown Chiefs are the team from Slap Shot, the 1977 film starring Paul Newman as player-coach Reggie Dunlop. Writer Nancy Dowd based it on her brother Ned's time with the Johnstown Jets, the Hanson Brothers were based on the real Carlson brothers, and when pro hockey came back to Johnstown, the new team took the name Johnstown Chiefs.
