The Minnesota North Stars were the original hockey heartbeat of the State of Hockey. From 1967 to 1993, the Met Center in Bloomington rocked with some of the most passionate fans in the NHL. Stars like Dino Ciccarelli, Neal Broten (the Miracle on Ice hero who went on to North Stars glory), Brian Bellows, and Mike Modano in his early years made the green and gold iconic. When Norm Green moved the team to Dallas in 1993, it tore the heart out of Minnesota hockey — and that wound still stings for every North Stars fan who lived it.
